Online Quilt Festival!

Through Clare's blog I found out about this cool online event organized by Park City Girl. I hope you'll join, too!

It was really hard to decide on a favorite to share, but this is what I settled on. It snowed here yesterday - a shock to my system after the 20+C weather I had the past two weeks - so I thought this quilt was the burst of color I needed this morning! I made this for high school friends' baby in Hong Kong back in the summer of 2007. Here's the original post from when I finished it and here is a little tutorial about how I put it together. Baby Bird is waiting for a baby brother or sister now! Better get started on the next one!

I'm looking forward to surfing around later to see the other quilts!

  12. I love the color combination on this quilt and I would never have put these together myself. Thanks for reminding me that I need to break out of my matchy matchy color sense in my quilting and take a risk once in a while. Thanks for sharing your wonderful work.

  13. We've got snow here today and supposedly through the weekend. I just got the call that my kids are being released early. Hard to believe it's 4/17, but these spring storms are the worst.

  24. Yes, quilts are for more than covering up with...my grandma made a baby quilt for my son and we hauled that everywhere to put down so he'd have something 'safe' to play on. To friends, to the park, to church...

The colors are lovely. I love happy baby quilts!
