I've been blogging for nearly two months now. It's been a great experience - I have started a quilt journal and have 'met' quilters around the world - my two reasons for starting. That second idea ('meeting') became much more real today. I complimented Nadine's hexagon tote bag a while back. Turns out she's also a foreign language teacher! She offered to send the pattern. I wrote back that I'd need to learn how to English paper piece hexagons first! She said she'd send me info on that, too.
This is what I found in my mailbox this evening! Not only did Nadine include plenty of examples and pages of instructions, but she sent me a little hedgehog button and pincushion!! Unbelievable. Thanks, Nadine!

What a nice gift. Blogger friends far and near are great!
You are going to love the hexagons -- I have found them to be very addicting and satisfying. Enjoy *s*
Lucky girl!! How wonderful quilter friends are!! :) I'm gone now to check out Nadine's hexagon bag.
Looks like you are going to be busy on a fun project. Enjoy the time with you Mom and working on the hex's will be a good project to do while visiting.
What a sweet package -- and a sweet internet friend! how thoughtful. Enjoy your hexes and your mom's visit. Hi Hedgehog's Mom!
What a lovely surprise for you! I'll enjoy seeing how you go with the hexagons, they are fun.

What a fun package to get in the mail .... I haven't learned to do the english paper piecing yet either, someday! I agree, since I started blogging I have met some really nice quilter friends!!
Nadine is a very special lady so I'm not at all surprised that you received such a wonderful package from her.
Beware you will get addicted to English Paper Piecing and those hexagons. I started a project recently and couldn't put it down. LOL Enjoy, enjoy!
I noticed Nadines bag also. It is beautiful. Sewing hexagons is fun, I am actually sewing on a hexagon bag too...... (another of my ufo's) Gosh....do I have many ufo's LOL
What a lovely surprise for you. It's so special when someone does something like that. I think you're going to have some fun with those.
You will get hooked, I'm sure. Have fun.
NEAT! How lucky for you.
how lucky of you to receive the instructions to make hexagons. I hope you'll show the progress of working on them. Maybe i'll learn from you how to make them.
Very special.
What a neat package to get! Be sure and show us pictures of the finished bag you make. :)
Nadine is obviously a kind person! Just a word of warning. I hope you will consider it a cyper-friend's comment. English paper piecing is really hard on the wrist, or at least I have found it so. Don't do much at a time, and if you can find one there, wear one of those wrist support gloves or braces. I know you're young, but the pain may come later. :)
That's the fine thing about Internet. It brings people all over the world closer together. You'll love the hexagons!!

I have an interesting hexagon strippy quilt I am getting ready to finish before Christmas. I did all the hexagons by Eng paper piecing and it was fun!
I am convinced the world got smaller because of the internet!
Great gift! Have an excellent time with your mum.
Hedgehog dear,
I have visited your blog before, but tonight my attention was drawn by a comment you've made on Kristinne LaFlamme's blog, where you have taught her to say "Vise placute" in Romanian.
If you would enjoy to meet a group of Romanian and French quilters, check our blog, Peticelul Romanesc - The Romanian Patch. We would like to hear from you.
I enjoy very much your postings, hope to see more projects in the future.
With warm regards.
Noapte buna!

I love blogging. You get to find out so much about other quilters in other places that you may never get to visit. I agree with Carol. It certainly makes the world a smaller place.
Wait till you see the hexagon quilt I saw at guild tonight! I hope to post a picture tomorrow!
