Progress

First, a picture from tropical Copenhagen!! (Tropical is a relative term, of course.)

I've made a total of ten blocks (four pictured below) for the baby quilt (deadline April 18th!) - not quite sure how I will arrange them - darker blues fading to lighter ones? half and half? It's a great way to use up my scraps (see above), though! I've been trying to squeeze in 1 hour and 20 minutes of quilting each night - a friend just sent me several seasons of Will & Grace (yes, I'm that far behind with US tv), so it works out to four episodes of quilting each evening!

Happy Easter to those who are celebrating it. I have guests arriving this evening from Estonia! I'll end with two photos from an Easter past (in Romania). The three-hour midnight service in Botoşani is something I will never forget - the photo is from my friend's apartment next to the church. The eggs came the next morning (after about four hours sleep), along with a frightening jellied rooster dish and the most delicious cozonac with chocolate and walnuts.

OOOOH! Can I come play in your scraps? I see some great stuff in that baggie. LOL! And I love the blocks you're making. another one to go in the "someday" file when I just want to pull scraps out and play.

Beautiful scraps, and I really like the way they are coming together in the quilt blocks.

What wonderful sights you are taking in on your journey's around Europe. Gosh those eggs are the most vibrant I have ever seen . . . and I bet they are done with a natural dye, not good ole Paas *s*

I've just GOT to ask for more detail... you said... jellied ROOSTER? Did you mean a jelly salad, molded in a rooster shape, or... a whole rooster, ground up somehow and made into jelly or... ?

So much fun to see the stash piles of other quilters and even more to discover I have one of your fabrics too. Thanks for the pics to let me see your part of the world. Love it.

what makes the eggs such a beautiful color?

Are those maybe brown eggs dyed red? I've seen some in Germany that looked a little like that--color-drenched you might say.

If it makes you feel any better, Blogger only talks to me in Chinese these days. At least with Finnish, you can use a dictionary to figure it out. You tell me what this means: 您可以使用某些. Haven't a clue!!

I love Copenhagen, Keith works for a Danish company and goes over several times a year. I've only gotten to go twice in the 6 years he's been working for them but we're going to try really hard to work it out so I can go again this year.
