Click Click

So, my camera is safe and sound. As promised, my chicken! Her name is Click (because of the camera trauma and because I saw the Adam Sandler movie of the same name on Sunday night). She's made of two twenty-five patch 3.75 inch squares, with scraps (from Love Beads, Citrus Zipper, my Leukemia blocks, and the (Roller) Coasters, and filled with rice. I don't really think I'm going to stick pins in her - she'll just keep me company while I sew.

A few photos of the day out in Tampere (the Finlayson textile mill and an Orthodox church - they have regular services in Finnish and Russian and once a month in Romanian!):

Jeanne asked me about the size of Finland after I posted a map on Sunday evening. I looked it up so I could compare it to a US state. Here's an interesting fact: if Finland were a US state, it would be the fifth largest state - between Montana and New Mexico in size!

One final photo from Tampere:

I certainly haven't seen this Bernina poster before!

Hmmm - now maybe that would tempt me to go out and buy a new bernina!!!!

I love your chicken! He is adorable!

Click is cute -- I only put pins in my chicken away from the eyes. It just seems too cruel otherwise.

*s* I have been thinking my next machine should be a Bernina -- now I'm even more convinced.

Ha, funny poster! I guess they think that if you can use scantily clad women to sell cars, that they can use scantily clad men to sell sewing machines! But I think we would have bought them anyway. :)

Hedgehog, have enjoyed reading some of your blogs, & enjoying your pics.

I just think that chicken should fly over to me! I WANT her!

Your chicken is cute. But that ad is way too cool!

He he, that has got to be a first for sewing machine advertisement.

That is a happy chicken if ever I saw one.

Hey .... my Bernina didn't come with one of those!!

I wonder what the message the Bernina poster is trying to get across to consumers?

It takes a strong man to pick up a Bernina?

If a man's going to buy a machine, he'd sell his shirt to get a Bernina?

*giggles*

Yes I might buy a Bernina as long as I got THAT in the accessory pack. The little chicken is a cute one.

Love the ad!!! Have never seen that one before - unique approach. BTW I do need a new machine!

Click is very cute, I agree, I don't think I could put pins in her either!

I was in Helsinki for a day last year. It was a beautiful and sophisticated city. Wish I'd had more time.

I even went into the Bernina store there, but they weren't sellin' what they sellin' in Tampere!!

hmm, using beefcake to sell Berninas - that is new. Love that church - beautiful architecture.

Nope, I didn't get one of those with my Bernina - and the sewing machine shop owner didn't look like that either. Mind you I do find it heavy so I could use the accessory.

Click looks great. I wouldn't want to put pins in it either.

Hmm... That guy looks like he could play soccer! ;-)

Did you know that every time I read your blog, I walk away humming the Monty Python song, "Finland, Finland, Finland... That's where I'd like to be..."

Susan said...

Nope, no Bernina posters like that here either....

Love the chick.....I will be wanting to make one for me next....

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your travels....... Such a beautiful place to live.

Click is very cute! And as for that Bernina ad, what a better way to sell a sewing machine with cute man behind it. Not an ad one would easily forget.

Hi Hedgie...what an adorable companion chick you have...*VBS*
I love it...."The Chick Click"!!!!

Or Clickie Chickie..maybe?

At at any rate, she's adorable. And nice to have the fabric memories be part of her also.

I just love the difference between European advertising and USA! This is a funny ad! Your chicken is great. And - lucky you to get your camera back!!! My Dad very recently found a cache of camera equipment down at the shore and brought it to the police. The police called to say that the rightful owners came to file a lost report and were so very grateful to have a life-time collection of lenses, equipment back - phew!

Cheers!

i'm sorry, gals. The chicken is cute, but please... isn't this Bernina ad much more worth looking at and commenting on??? I just love it. Finally!! After all the sex-pots sprawled on top of cars, we get a sex-pot of our own sprawled across our sewing mchine. LOL. I'm having a good laugh over your blog today, Hedgehog, and all the funny comments.
