Round One

I think the medallion is going to be fun. In fact, I had to drag myself out of my quilting room kicking and screaming last night in order to get some other things done. I have put on the first round - very simple, but still fun. I know people talk about giving 'the eye a place to rest' on these kinds of quilts - I hope rows like this between other kinds of blocks will suffice. I think it's going to be very busy. I think that's ok. (My mom said she can't imagine me making anything else. lol.) I also cut out enough blocks to make a row of QSTs during the week. Thanks to Gail for her great QST tutorial!

On the RR quilts I have done we have always had one round between the others to calm it down. What's the next round going to be???? I am curious. LOL

The white background is the "place for your eye to rest."

Beautiful center for your quilt. I love medallion quilts and will love watching each step of yours! How neat that you and your mom chare the interest in quilting.

this is looking really good! you'll find that you might want to add some plain sashing rows here and there, too, in order to bring the quilt-top up to a size for which it's easier to fit pieced borders

What a fabulous quilt this is going to be. It's so hard to quit sewing when one is on a roll isn't it. I think that's why so many of our retreaters stayed up most of the night. That's a complicated center you chose, but your piecing looks perfect!

I know what you mean. I hate having to quit sewing to make dinner or do laundry. Blech!! I need a maid and a cook! :)

Love the soft colors- that'll make up for it being busy- though it is never too busy for me! Don't you just love it when you get on a roll and you are lovin' the project? That is so much fun. Anxiously awaiting the next round.
