Quick and Easy

A quick and easy little quilt made by cutting up this fabric and sewing it back together. It's about 14"x14".

A quick and easy dinner:

Veggie Chili

1-2 onions - chopped
1-2 green peppers - chopped into chunks
1 red pepper - chopped into chunks
saute in a little olive oil.

add a can of chopped tomatoes (or two) with juice.
add a can of black beans (drained and rinsed).
simmer about 20 minutes.

add a jar of salsa (as hot as you'd like).
simmer a little longer.

add a bag of frozen corn.
serve when the corn is warmed through.
easy.

that's a little sour cream on top.
freezes well, too!

I also learned a more difficult recipe this weekend from a friend - can't post it here because it's full of measurements like a 'loose wrist movement of cardamom' - but it was my first attempt at making Finnish pulla!

That chili sounds yummy . . . I'm going to tuck that recipe right in my cookbook. Thanks for sharing *s*

I thought "gee, those fabrics are cute", but it's from one fabric! So clever! And I love the colours!! The Pulla look pretty yummy too (pity, I'm wheat-free LOL)

Very cute quilt and it is so cool to use only one fabric.

I passed your chili recipe to my husband because he is the cook in the family...not me.

The quilt is so cheerful! I love the fabric. Did you make the little quilt for some(one)thing special?
Thanks for the Veggie Chili recipe.

Love the little quilt. I am going to have to try your chili.

Have you ever added TVP to it? (I got some TVP yesterday just to make veggie soups, stews, & chilis!)

TVP textured vegetable protein - looks like big pieces of grape nuts.

The little quilt is so sweet as candy! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I'm not the worlds best cook so all easy to follow recipes are welcome!

The pullas look good, is it kind of a sweet bread?
