I finished this quilt back in September 2006, just after I started blogging. I started piecing it by hand on trains in Romania and finished by machine in Finland. Well, The Color Purple has a new home! I started it with a friend in mind, but then she had a boy. (He received
this for his first birthday and
this on my last visit to England.) Now that little boy has a new sister, Maria Sandra. They will be amazed how quickly this quilt arrives - all I have left to do is the label!

It's really pretty, and what a lot of patience, sewing all those curves.
It's lovely!
Lovely! I really like your binding and the great way you used the color purple.
Love that you finally found just the right baby! Gorgeous.
Those strawberry mini quilts are stunning, Tracey
Thank you for the wonderful lesson on the flying geese pattern. Interestingly my daughter is spending the summer in Sundsvall Sweden coaching and playing softboll. We live in the states in Oregon. I hope you enjoy your trip to the states. Fran
