The Bear Paw Verdict

So, the darks have it. I liked the light when I drew it two summers ago, but once I had everything in front of me, I wasn't so sure. Most importantly, my brother voted for the dark sashing and it's going to be his quilt! (It took him a while to respond - recovering from being a grilled cheese sandwich for Halloween and away for an ultimate frisbee tournament in Rhode Island, etc...) Thanks to everyone who left a comment.

I thought I'd post a few more pictures from my mom's visit. We crossed the longest bridge in Finland to Replot and then to Bjorkeby. It was awfully chilly that day!

A couple people asked me to say a little more about the princess cake from an earlier post. It's a sponge-type cake, sliced into several thin layers, layered with jam, topped with whipped cream, then covered with marzipan. Delicious.

That is such a kewl looking bridge! And what is that sculpture in the next picture. It looks like a ship but it also echos the lines of the bridge.

Don't you and your mom look alike? Talk of Scandinavian cakes reminds me that whenever we visit IKEA I always buy mazarin - I love those little cakes. The princess cake sound delicious too.

I am sure it was fun having your mom visit you. She looks like a good sport to be out in the weather traipsing around!

I voted for the light, but boy does the dark look good. Good choice. The folks who voted for dark were right!

I like the darker color. Sounds like your brother was having some fun, a grilled cheese sandwich??? You and your Mom look alike and she looks so young. I love the pictures of Finland. I have always dreamed of visiting there. Have you taken a sauna yet? We had a Finnish sauna at my home while I was growing up and I loved it. I miss it so much. I am going to have one when we build our home in Montana. Keep posting pictures of Finland for me PLEASE.

the quilt looks great with the dark sashing.

Thanks for sharing more photos of Finland. It's nice to see other parts of the world. That's a lovely photo of you and your mum. Now we have a face to the name :-))

I think the dark sashing will be just right. Probably more what a brother would choose. It is his quilt after all!
