Progress or Procrastination?

Can you tell that I'm not ready for the semester to begin? Or for summer to end? Trying to only quilt once I've accomplish something, but it's tough. Trying to get braver about free-motion quilting by stippling a bit. My success with the doll quilt in July is motivating me. Not totally satisfied yet, but I can see improvement. This is the back of the Finland/Scotland/USA quilt.

I did many a postcard before I "liked" my free motion stippling -- hang in there, it'll come :-)

Remember we are our own worst critics . . . just relax and enjoy the process. I like what I see.

I like the blue and white combination, and your free-form blocks.

Qreat Quilt, I love the blocks and backing fabric.

your free motion quilting looks great. lots (and lots) of practice is the only way to get better at it.

Lovely backing fabric - and your stippling will do just fine - it's durable for a hopefully well used baby quilt and the more you practice the smoother the curves in your stippling will become

A bit of both I think! The blue/grey/white combo is lovely - and should cover any 'added colour' from bubs!

I have a tiny bit of that bunny fabric - in a different color. Great back for that quilt...

That bunny fabric is the cutest thing I have ever seen!

Your quilting will improve as long as you just go with the flow, let it happen and keep on doing it. My quilting was truly vile and I was so discouraged at first I didn't try again for literally years. Now I think of all that time wasted, I should have just pushed on and worked through it.

Hmm, didn't want to leave the impression I didn't think your quilting was up to scratch. You're making far nicer shapes and getting better coverage with your quilting than I ever did, and the finished quilt will be just gorgeous.
